MPLS Network Model comprises of label switched routers that work with the label edge routers arranges specifically so as to transfer data from one source to the other. The model is such that maximum output/ performance is obtained while providing the least input. The connectivity offered by going for the MPLS technology is better than the traditional transfer modules ATM, frame layer and more. This is because it is the connectivity of 2 layer network. Network layer routing forms the core of many internet/ phone service providers. The smooth functioning of which requires an obstacle free transfer from network to the other end. MPLS helps you do that and much more.

MPLS & Traffic Engineering

MPLS or multi protocol label switching process has improved traffic engineering and networking by a great deal by doing the following:

  • As MPLS makes data transfer accurate and more efficient, traffic engineering gets a solid boost.
  • MPLS assures QoS as there are rarely any glitches in networking and data transfer.
  • The label switching routers in MPLS means that the transfer from the one source to another is hassle free.

Cisco routers are used to interconnect two or more computer networks and selectively interchange packets of data between them. It is a networking device whose software and hardware are customized to the tasks of routing and forwarding information. A cisco router has two or more interfaces. Each router interface is a small computer specialized to convert electric signals from one form to another.
